MENOMORPHOSIS

#75 Menopause And Mental Illness with Victoria Hardy

โ€ข Episode 75

This week, I have the pleasure of speaking with the incredible Victoria Hardy, aka Ginge Unhinged. She found herself in surgical menopause during her early 30s after battling endometriosis for decades.

Victoria initially believed that a hysterectomy would free her from suffering, but it had unexpected and profound effects on her mental health, leading her to some of the darkest moments in her life.

Fortunately, she turned to writing, journaling, and doodling as a means of coping. She ventured into social media and discovered a supportive community of individuals who could relate to her experiences.

Today, Victoria is not only an author but also a speaker, using her platform to advocate for and raise awareness about women's health, with a particular focus on menopause. Her journey is a testament to her strength, resilience and ability to inspire.

In this conversation, we explore various aspects of Victoria's story, including:

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Her diagnosis of endometriosis at the age of 18.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ The numerous medical procedures she endured, including those for pre-cancerous cells.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ The life-altering impact of her hysterectomy at the age of 34.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ The challenges she faced in post-surgery care and support.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ The transformative power of writing and journaling in her healing process.
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Her journey to finding joy and purpose in menopause .
