#8 Understanding HRT with Dr Sian Evans
One of the recommended treatment methods for perimenopause and menopause symptoms here in the UK is HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), yet 79% of women have never tried it!
Public confidence in HRT plunged after a study in 2002 which misreported some of its findings, particularly the risks associated with breast cancer. Today many women still worry about taking HRT, and if they do decide they want to take it, not all doctors will prescribe it.
In this episode, I delve into the subject of HRT with GP Dr Sian Evans. Sian has a keen interest in menopause as well as being a perimenopausal woman herself. Alongside practicing as a GP, Sian has children and elderly parents so fully understands the juggle that many perimenopausal women experience at this stage of life.
